Now I build content pages, and in my spare time I build more and more. In my definition, a content site more or less like what James Martell does. I would research for keywords, define my themes, the content, I want to start in my side, and then by letter (or get someone else to write for me).

Done with is that, then it comes to building the site by web pages together and get a domain name and web hosting.

Then you go around looking for link partners.

I suspect most people understand what a blog is. But just in case some newbie readers, I’ll try to explain what it is. A blog is a website that contains articles written by article one by one. The content is not written all in one go in advance. But it’s more updated again on the road.

A blog lists the article in a chronological way, the first in the latest. MoneyClicking.net is a blog. A blog is usually supported by a system or a script. Blogger.com, you can (remotely hosted), WordPress (PHP script), Movable Type (Perl script), etc.

Anyway, back to the topic. I was on the phone with my friend, we concluded it is better to have a blog because it is easier to transport to get to him.

Why? Well, there are some mechanisms in a blog and also the culture of blogging is that it’s much easier.

For one thing – it’s easier to get incoming links. Let me tell you how.

Reason # 1: Blog Ping

First, there is this thing called – PING. With a blog, ping, whenever a new article in your blog, you can contact addresses, ping a few sites to tell them that you only update your blog. If you do this, you will get a link back to your website. Ping sites are like Technorati.com and BlogRolling.com. News sites like Yahoo News, Yahoo News and beyond, including Ping addresses.

Well, maybe you will not be very long in the list on the page, as many other blogs and ping to those sites. But more or less, it helps. I want to my web statistics and traffic away from the sites I get pinged.

Reason # 2: Trackback

Second, there is also track back. Now I was to tell a friend how to work Trackbacks last week. Now I will tell you. With blogs, for each article you write, it will be a unique URL for it. And for every article there is also a unique Trackback URL. If you are at another person’s blog, find a trackback URL, and you can copy it.

Now here’s how to use trackback URL. Let say you are on a strange blog. And he just wrote something about cat care. And somehow you feel that you have to say something that he wrote have – and you know what you say is very long, you want may not be suitable for a comment. To write your own message on your blog, and below the interface give the other guy Trackback URL and then you hit the Send button.

Now the new page will appear on your blog. And because you put in a trackback URL, a part of your article in the other guy article appears as a comment. And the comment links directly back to your article. So this is how trackbacks work.

Reason # 3: Blog Comments

Well, my third point, why blog is better as a content site – blog comments. Here you will be able to go to other blog sites and write a few comments to articles. And you yourself have a link back to your website. But here’s the thing, so make sure your comments are genuine, for get now days, there are too many people spamming blog comments, only a link back.

Reason # 4: Bloggers’ Linking Habit

OK, here’s more. This is more a blogging culture thing – bloggers like to link with each other. If your blog is interesting, it is easy to get other bloggers to link back to you. Whether you call it on your website, or sometimes just give you a link back. I’ve got this many times, and most of the time, they will write back to a specific message. And sometimes, they only list blog sites they like on their website.

Reason # 5: Fast SE Indexing

This is pretty long already received. But I’m not finished. When it comes to traffic is coming, you can see, but it’s easier to be indexed in the search engines with a blog. I do not know why – maybe because there are more incoming links, of course, and you do not really ask them, they go. And if the incoming links are more natural, I think search engines will prefer much more.

I myself have experienced, in which new content was indexed on my blog in less than seven days.

Reason # 6: Repeat Visitors

Now that you get traffic from search engines, ping sites and other blogs, then you are starting to realize that 80-90% of visitors are regulars. It is common with a blog. So the point is this – it is easier for the visitors with a blog to keep.

You get huge traffic from several sources – and the ones you already have to keep. This differs from content pages, where you really so much about search engines.

Blogging seems a lot more fun …

In my experience, starting from scratch in six months, a content site or can not get to mark of 1000 visitors per day. And it takes serious hours writing content and building inbound links. I have done several websites consistently 100-200 visitors per day, after six months. But with a blog, it is not unusual for a blog reached 3000 hits per day, provided you give good content.

But I guess it all boils down to the comfortable with you.

From this knowledge I can that planning for the future – but I’m not sure on that yet. From the looks of it, it seems that blogging is much more fun. You write about what you want, and you network with other bloggers. And the writing part is much, much easier with scripts like WordPress and Movable Type. Not much planning, no uploading of files, a few link building, etc …

With building content pages, you still have to build on the Website, you load up your web hosting, build inbound links, etc. …

That’s my opinion. And you may think is not the same as I do, based on your personal experiences and knowledge. I respect, dass
